Stunning Italian early 1800s grand tour onyx micro mosaic. Set in a 18k gold frame fully hallmarked for maker Gustaf Adolf Cedergren, Stockholm year 1852. After a grand tour trip to Italy where he bought this micro mosaic an upper class Swedish young man had it framed by one of the foremost goldsmiths of the time back home in Stockholm.
Great condition. very tiny nicks and faint surface scratches. micro mosaic securely held in setting, but not completely fixed. Pin and C-clasp are old replacements.
