Goldsmith and designer Ragnar Skalstad (1923-2001) started his training at the J. Tostrup company, Oslo, Norway in 1945. He worked for several jeweler companies in Denmark and Sweden, and later for the David-Andersen company in Oslo. Skalstad started his own workshop in 1953, and later opened a jeweler's shop. The business was closed down in 1990.
